Pause the Bedford-Cambridge rail link - petition

This petition asks the government to pause plans for the Bedford-to-Cambridge section of East West Rail. It calls on the government to hold a full and independent review of its plans for this section.

The petition was set up by the campaigning groups BFARe and Cambridge Approaches. Like us, both groups believe that East West Rail has not provided a credible business case for the project. We also share their concerns about the environmental impacts, including potential greenfield housing, habitat loss and the exacerbation of water shortages in the region.
